Dagebüll

Schleswig-Holstein· dorf· 800 Inhabitants

Dagebüll is a ferry port — the most important on the North Frisian mainland coast. Wyker Dampfschiffs ferries leave here for Föhr, Amrum and the Halligen of Langeneß, Hooge and Gröde. Start an island day-trip from Hamburg, change in Niebüll from train to the "Wegehus-Bahn" or bus, and be at the beach two hours later. The village itself has a charming harbour square, an 1899 shipping-company inscription, the "Dagebüller Hof" restaurant with island views, and a sandy beach on the west shore. Swimming spots at the mole in summer. Dogs allowed on the beach.
