Juist calls itself "Töwerland" — Magic Land. The island is 17 km long, on average just 500 m wide, car-free, and reached only once a day because the ferry is tide-dependent. Arrive here and you really leave the mainland behind: no cars, no rush, three horse-cart lines as "public transport". Beach: 17 km of sand along the entire North Sea shore. Worth seeing: the Töwerland saltwater pool, the inland Hammersee lake, the historic 1898 island station. A magnet for families, wellness travellers and slow tourists. Get there: ferry from Norddeich, 1 h 15, one round trip per day timed with the tide.
