Langeoog

Langeoog is a 20 km² East Frisian island between Spiekeroog and Baltrum — car-free, with 14 km of sandy beach and the characteristic dune chain set back from the sea. The island train (1937) connects harbour and village in a five-minute ride through salt marsh. Village centre around the high street and church, the Maritime Museum with its sperm-whale model, the "Pirola-Tal" park with historic dune structures. Beach with chairs and a surf school. Get there: ferry from Bensersiel (45 min, year-round). Multiple sailings a day in summer.
